How to Stop Caring What People Think
Not Worrying What People Think is The Greatest Form of Self Love! Feel Alive by Ralph Smart. The New Book Now Available Below: http://www.infinitewaters.net/books selfrescue.ca Self Healing Self Love Self Confidence Emotional Healing Healthy Living: Face your fears and do something scary every day!
By Alice Facente For The Bulletin Posted Jan. 13, 2014 @ 5:03 pm Tacked on the bulletin board above my daughter’s computer desk is this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt: “Do one thing every day that scares you.” The idea being that the more often we get out of our comfort zones, the more we will experience growth in our family life, our school or professional world and our community. I certainly fulfilled my quota of doing something scary every day on our most recent trip to the west coast to visit our kids. When we visited our son in Moab, Utah, we went mountain biking on some pretty rough terrain (I’m happy to report that I only fell once). The next day we went sheer rock climbing, with our son belaying us. That was both exhilarating and terrifying, but the sense of accomplishment was worth it. Later that week, in San Francisco, we had to negotiate public transportation in a bustling, confusing city. Maybe the scariest thing we did was go to our grandson’s kindergarten class, where we were persuaded to participate in a relay race with 18 giggling little kids during physical education. I was scared of tripping and falling and embarrassing myself and our grandson, but I didn’t. Looking back, each one of these activities forced us out of our comfort zone. All of us can slip into complacency and routine. It’s hard to face our fears. We all need to reach out, heed Roosevelt’s advice, and do something scary every day. It can be as simple as signing up to learn a new hobby, trying a new sport, volunteering for a cause you feel passionate about or doing some activity in a new and different way. Let’s take the challenge, face our fears and teach ourselves we can handle whatever life throws at us. Alice Facente, RN, MSN, is a Backus Community Health Education nurse. How is you mind? "In an effort to reach the moon, we often fail to see the flowers that blossom at our feet." In today's Mindset Monday, we're going to talk about appreciating small things in life, loving the things that we verily miss because we're too preoccupied of reaching for our dreams. How good is your life, really? Sometimes, we're just too caught up with things and bogged with so many clutters in life that we tend to forget small things that can make us happy. But if we look around us and appreciate simple things that we have, slowly we can see the goodness of things out of simplicity. If we take a moment to acknowledge the goodness of life, then we realize how able we are today to see happiness pouring around us. So today I'm going to talk about 3 tools to appreciate little things in life better. Tool 1 - The Gratitude List Tool 2 - Thank Someone Everyday Tool 3 - Thank Yourself These tools can help you live a better life and have a better outlook of everyday. So let's have a roll with thee tools. Tool 1 - The Gratitude List Every night, before you go to bed, come up with the Gratitude List. It is a list of the 5 things you are grateful for everyday. Program your subconscious mind of the good things that are coming back to you. And receive this outer materialization towards your inner soul. Pull back the gratefulness in you 'cause this is the art of living life to the fullest. If you think that there are roadblocks to even think about those that you are grateful for, you can always find a way to remove those roadblocks and redeem the gratefulness in you. Ask yourself, "What are you grateful for?" Look around you. Feel your senses. What you're seeing are blessings of a sound mind. What you're hearing are products of symphonies and harmonies that jive in the melody of nature. Be thankful that you're receiving the good message on having a better tomorrow. Be thankful of simple things like water, for how simple they are were deprived in other sides of the world. Bring a rampage of appreciation, and all these good things are surely going to come back to you. Tool 2 - Thank Someone Everyday Have you heard of the word "Namaste"? It basically means that the divinity in me sees the divinity in you. It's a non-contact form of greeting that is used for salutation to someone of different gender, age or social status. Thank someone for a simple gesture everyday, may it just be opening of the door for you, or delivering your ordered pizza, or picking up your laundry. There's a lot to be grateful for when we start with little things. Tool 3 - Thank Yourself Don't be so hard to yourself in embracing depressions in this world. When we become so focused with our shortcomings, that's when we start to lose our self-esteem. So leave yourself a room to thank yourself because when you start becoming thankful for yourself, everyone else is going to be thankful for who you are. You attract who you are. Take a moment to thank yourself for everything that you do. So always remember these 3 tools to appreciate the little things around you. Be a blessing to everyone by recognizing the blessings that are coming to you. And above everything, love yourself. Before you can spread love for others, you must learn to love yourself. And you will start to see life in a completely different way. If you like this Mindset Monday, please give it a big thumbs up! Leave a comment below! Remember we're in this together!
